China is to invest 260 billion yuan (£28 billion) reviving plans for the world's longest undersea tunnel, which would dwarf that of the Channel Tunnel. At 76.4 miles, it would eclipse the 33.46 mile Seikan tunnel in Japan, which is currently the world's longest undersea tunnel, as well as the Channel tunnel, which at 31.4 miles, linked England and France.
